HUBweek: Cengage Learning and LearnLaunch to Host Live Edtech Pitch Competition


What:   As part of HUBWeek, a weeklong series of events and experiences taking place throughout Greater Boston October 3-10, Cengage Learning and LearnLaunch, an organization dedicated to connecting, supporting and growing the world’s edtech ecosystem, will host a fast-paced pitch competition showcasing some of the area’s most innovative higher education startups.

Industry experts from LearnLaunch, Cengage Learning and Simmons College will provide feedback to participating startups on ways in which they can scale their business and increase their competitiveness in today’s market.  This is the first in a series of pitch competitions hosted by LearnLaunch leading up to the organization’s Across Boundaries Conference in January 2016.

Edtech Startups Participating in Pitch Competition

Alchemie: Builds mobile games for higher education, beginning with a huge pain point, organic chemistry. 

Cram Fighter: Cram Fighter develops web and mobile apps that allow students to create personalized study plans for high-stake exams.  With Cram Fighter, students get a daily checklist of tasks so that they know exactly what to do each day to be ready for their exam.

Quadlyfe: First turnkey mobile application platform designed specifically to help small- to medium size college and university admissions and marketing groups connect with and engage potential students and showcase campus culture, digitally.

Shearwater: Partners with universities and secondary schools to develop online student and alumni programs that combine personalized mentorship and scalable reporting to improve student experience, engage young alumni, and increase retention. 

Subverses: Boston-based software startup building a suite of language-learning tools, centered around our immersive spy game video.
