Gale Launches Web site Addressing ARRA Guidelines

Farmington Hills, Mich., April 28, 2009 – Gale, part of Cengage Learning, has a long history of library advocacy and partnership.  In these challenging economic times, Gale continues in this role with the launch of a Web site to aid schools in the understanding of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and how they can obtain funding to access valuable information resources.

With this funding, schools are tasked with making short-term investments that have long-term benefits.  The Web site ( specifically addresses ARRA guidelines and how information resources align with them, and is designed to help educators, administrators and others inside and outside the school system understand the requirements of ARRA and their purchase decisions.

Drop-down tabs provide details on the requirements of the four funding areas of ARRA and specific products that support them.  Many Gale resources support multiple areas, including Educator’s Reference Complete, Gale Virtual Reference Library and Global Issues in Context.

“Gale has always worked as an advocate for libraries,” said Nader Qaimari, Gale’s vice president of market strategy.  “That tradition continues with the introduction of this tool that helps school libraries find ways to supplement their information budget with new funding sources.”

A complete list of the resources and how they align to the ARRA guidelines is available at the Web site.
