CompuTaught Chosen to Distribute EcoBroker Online Energy & Environmental Real Estate Courses
EcoBroker Certified® Designation Offers Agents Competitive Advantage
CompuTaught, a leading provider of professional licensing education and a part of Cengage Learning, announced today they have partnered with EcoBroker International (EcoBroker) to be their national distributor of the EcoBroker Certified® designation — the premiere green designation program for real estate professionals since 2002.
EcoBroker was the first, and remains the largest, green real estate training and communications program in the world dedicated to environmental issues and sustainability. The EcoBroker® designation offers real estate professionals a competitive advantage when building their client base, as today’s home buyers and sellers are looking for agents who possess expertise in energy efficiency and environmentally sensitive living. Licensed real estate agents must complete three online real estate courses (18 hours total) plus four hours of additional education each year to earn and maintain the EcoBroker® designation.
“EcoBroker was founded to meet the demand we saw in the real estate industry for applied energy and environmental education,” said Dr. John Beldock, CEO and founder of EcoBroker International. “There simply wasn’t anything that taught real estate agents how to speak the language of green or to help consumers find informed agents familiar with green building features, techniques, and opportunities. These professionals are now out there making a difference for consumers, communities, the economy, and the environment.”
Twenty years ago, CompuTaught was the first to offer state-approved real estate licensing courses on computers and continues to be the leading developer of computer-based education for the real estate and appraisal professions.
“CompuTaught is proud to be chosen by EcoBroker to help expand the national reach for their comprehensive real estate curriculum to enable real estate professionals to earn the EcoBroker Certified® designation,” said Dave Shaut, Vice President CompuTaught. “EcoBroker fills a niche in the real estate space by offering licensed real estate professionals the only comprehensive educational curriculum focusing on how to live and build in a more environmentally sustainable manner.”
The EcoBroker educational curriculum is designed to help real estate agents address a variety of sustainability topics that impact the environment, such as green home certification programs like Energy Star®, LEED, and NAHB, as well as energy efficiency, renewable energy, environmentally sensitive design, and environmental restoration issues. It also addresses how to manage issues such as radon, mold, and indoor air and water quality; financing energy-efficient and environmentally sensitive buildings; and marketing this newly acquired expertise to build a more successful real estate practice.
“In-depth knowledge of sustainable living issues gives agents a definitive advantage in today’s real estate market,” said Bud Hunsucker, Vice President CompuTaught Business Development & School Programs.
