CompuTaught’s Online Real Estate Pre-License Course Approved in Iowa

CompuTaught, a part of Cengage Learning and a leading provider of professional licensing education, today announced that the Iowa Real Estate Commission has approved its online Iowa Real Estate Pre-License course to fulfill the state’s 60-clock hour real estate pre-license education requirement.

Addressing the fundamentals for real estate professionals, CompuTaught’s online pre-license real estate course covers buying and listing procedures, professionalism, ethical practices and other required subject matter prescribed by the Iowa Real Estate Commission for certification in the field. Successfully completing the 60 hours of self-paced, interactive lessons and final exam online qualifies candidates to take the Iowa real estate salesperson examination.

“As the pioneer in online real estate education, CompuTaught is pleased to receive approval for this online course, and we are eager to partner with Iowa’s real estate brokers, schools and associations to expand their offerings that satisfy real estate pre-licensing education requirements,” said Bud Hunsucker, Vice President of CompuTaught Business Development & School Programs. “This online course offers pre-license real estate salespersons convenience and flexibility as they fulfill the state’s requirements with an easy-to-use and interactive program.

CompuTaught also offers Iowa Real Estate Commission approved online continuing education courses to fulfill the state’s 24-clock hour elective requirement every three years. These three-hour and six-hour courses cover the following subjects: real estate finance, methods of residential finance, tax advantages, pricing property to sell, tax-free exchanges, ADA and fair housing, dual agency, real estate appraisal and home inspection.

“CompuTaught’s educational quality and stringent standards have not only resulted in the widespread acceptance of online courses for real estate education, but have also raised the bar for distance learning programs across the country,” said Dave Shaut, Vice President, Cengage Learning.

CompuTaught’s real estate pre-license study and continuing education courses utilize its mastery and fluency-based learning system. The system:

  • Tailors instruction to the needs of individual students to ensure mastery and fluency in each topic
  • Provides interactive tutorials that monitor learners’ progress and provides feedback as needed
  • Helps salespeople fulfill Iowa’s 60 hours of required real estate pre-license education

Brokers, schools and associations can offer these proven online real estate courses either as an affiliate of the CompuTaught Education Referral Network program or as an approved provider under their own brand.
