Milady and The Cosmetology Educators of America Announce 2012 Recipient of the Nicholas F. Cimaglia Educator of the Year Award
Clifton Park, NY – July 30, 2012 – Milady, part of Cengage Learning and a leading provider of beauty and wellness learning solutions, and the Cosmetology Educators of America (CEA),the educational committee of the American Association of Cosmetology Schools, today announced Ms. Melea Blakely as the recipient of the 2012 Nicholas F. Cimaglia Educator of the Year Award. The award was presented to Ms. Blakely at the 18th Annual CEA Convention on July 28, 2012 in Orlando, Florida.
The Educator of the Year Award is co-sponsored by the CEA and Milady, and is given annually to an educator who exhibits significant contributions toward upgrading professional standards of educational excellence, particularly within the area of student involvement.
Ms. Blakely, an instructor at the Advance Beauty College in Warrenton, Missouri, notes that she finds her inspiration in her students. She explains, “I strive to produce confident, knowledgeable graduates that have a heart for serving others. As an educator I strongly feel that I need to be an example of what a professional should be. So I will keep improving myself through continuing education. If I want my students to be the best they can be I must show them the best I can be. I truly believe that I was designed to teach. It is my heart. I am not only teaching my students a skill but I am showing them how to have a better future for themselves and their children.”

As the recipient of the Nicholas F. Cimaglia Educator of the Year Award, Ms. Blakely received an all-expenses-paid trip to Orlando, FL, where she was honored at the CEA Convention. In addition, she received a cash prize of $2,500 and gifts from Milady.
